AUPE Approves of Coercion

If you are an APS union member, the AUPE has made it clear – in a response to the MyAPSChoice Group complaint – that you are on your own. They do not intend to take any proactive collective action against the GoA employee vaccine mandate.

Their response suggests “the AUPE has already considered all the matters raised in your correspondence“. Did they read the 16 page letter of complaint?

If so, then the AUPE has already fully considered and weighed the legal, moral, ethical and spiritual controversies in the GoA vaccine policy, and according to the AUPE lawyer are OK with these facts:

  • the employer has NOT met the AUPE conditions and expectations of the policy as the AUPE has demanded;
  • the employer is contravening the Alberta Human Rights Act by discriminating against AUPE union members on protected grounds;
  • the employer may use an inappropriate level of discipline, even suspension without pay, against their AUPE union members;
  • the employer’s policy is fine even if it does not pass the test of “reasonableness”;
  • the employer’s policy is fine even if it is contrary to Supreme Court of Canada rulings;
  • the employer may use intimidation, coercion, threats and commit assaults upon AUPE union members;
  • the employer does not have to be held accountable for any medical, mental or financial liabilities caused by the policy;
  • the employer may violate their own rules related to inclusion and diversity if it is against a AUPE union members;
  • the employer is permitted to harass and discriminate against AUPE union members;
  • the employer is permitted to impose unsafe medical practices upon AUPE union members;
  • the employer may ignore any requests for accommodation by an AUPE union member.

Again we ask, did the AUPE even read the 16 page letter of complaint?

MyAPSChoice recommends you file a personal grievance to raise your concerns and contact your Membership Services Officer, as per the AUPE lawyers direction, and attach the original complaint letter drafted on your behalf by our legal counsel. The grievance is against the employer, not the AUPE.
