MyAPSChoice has learned that many of you are receiving an automated email from the Vaccination Exemption Request Team after you submit a custom exemption request outside of 1GX and outside of the GoA forms.:
“Thank you for your email. The request for exemption in 1GX does not require any submission of medical, religious or other protected grounds information, the requirement in 1GX is to make a selection by identifying “medical” or “other” to commence the process. Failure to do so today (October 29, 2021) will result in a requirement to submit a negative PCR/Rapid test dated stamped within 72 hours prior to the start of your shift effective December 14, 2021 and will result in non compliance with the policy and may result in being placed on a leave without pay. Regards, Vaccination Exemption Request team”
MyAPSChoice suggests you respond by stating…
“As per Section 7 of the Alberta Human Rights Act, I have disclosed my status and intention to seek an exemption under protected grounds. I have complied with the requirement to advise you of the same. This follow up email, plus my previous submission you have referenced, is my formal exemption request. I have also identified myself. Please confirm receipt of this email and provide me the courtesy of an acknowledgement, inclusive of your name and position. Thank you.”
