Our Privacy Policy Better Explained

The MyAPSChoice mailbox has received a number of inquiries with regards to how we protect your identity. The Privacy Policy at the bottom of the Open Letter is a bit confusing. Let us unpack it for clarity.

  • Originally, unless the open letter was signed by a minimum of 500 people, it was not going to be sent to the Public Service Commission. Therefore, your name was to be deleted from our records if the count of signatures was under 500.
  • Since the signature count has surpassed 500, this is no longer an impediment to our goal and the open letter WILL be delivered to the Public Service Commission.
  • However, your names are still PROTECTED.
  • Your names will NEVER be posted on the MyAPSChoice website nor Open Letter.
  • Your names will NOT be disclosed to the Public Service Commission, only a total count will be provided at the bottom of the Open Letter.
  • Your name is recorded so that there is a record of you being legally retained by Legal Counsel.
  • All of the formal complaints filed are done so by our Legal Counsel on your behalf, so your name is not revealed.
  • Your names may need to be disclosed if we engage in any formal legal action in court.
  • However, before doing so, we will reach out to you and provide you with an opportunity to withdraw from any legal action prior to disclosing any names.
  • If your information needs to be disclosed for legal purposes, it will be limited to your name, ministry (discipline), relationship to the APS (employee or not) and general address (town, city)
  • “Transmitted data” refers to any email you sent to or received from info@myapschoice.ca. These are not disclosed.
  • By checking the box “keep my name hidden for now” you are asking it to be excluded “forever” until we check with you for permission, but your signature will still be counted.

The MyAPSChoice Group hope this clarifies any of your privacy concerns.
