Your Mental Health Supersedes Policy

Many MyAPSChoice members have sent many emails to the general inbox sharing the negative impact the GoA mandated vaccination policy has had on their physical and mental well-being. Although a very personal issue, we are not surprised to learn of the many reports of emotional victimization committed by the GoA employer against APS employees and the mental stressors that such intimidation, isolation, and discrimination have caused. Your health must be protected. It must be your highest priority.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, punished, discriminated, harassed, fatigued or at the end of your rope, and exhausted from fighting this battle… please seek out a medical practitioner and mental health professional for counselling as soon as possible. You may also need to acquire from your Doctor a medical note for a temporary medical leave of absence while you are being treated for this mental oppression.

The GoA Vaccination Policy clearly exempts any employee from either regularly reporting their vaccination status or submitting results of a rapid or PCR test, while you are on vacation, other leave, or are absent because of an illness or medical / mental diagnosis. You are only required to adhere to the reporting aspects of the vaccination policy on your “first scheduled shift” upon your return.

If you are currently on medical leave, vacation or absent for any other approved purpose – and you are being pressed by your manager to report or update your status, reply politely with the following: “I am currently on approved (vacation, medical, other) leave. I am aware of the written Vaccination Policy and this email will confirm I am being responsive. As per the policy, I will provide you with the necessary information update upon my return to work during the start of my first scheduled shift. I do not consent to the further disclosure or dissemination of my medical status.”
